Mantra of The Heart Sutra(The Prajna Paramita Hridaya Sutra)

In the earlier article, we have discussed the Mantra of Avalokitesvara or the Great Compassion /Dharani Mantra.

Accompanying this Dharani mantra is the Mantra of Heart Sutra.

This mantra from the Heart Sutra is believed to be very good for chanting and meditation as it supposedly helps oneself to attain the Perfect and Highest Enlightenment. Many believed that this is a great supernatural mantra which can truly and without fail wipe out all suffering.

In a nutshell, this sutra proclaims that " there is no knowledge, no ignorance, no extinction of knowledge, no extinction of ignorance and so forth up to no old age and death, no extinction of old age and death; there is no suffering, no cause, no end, no path; there is no knowlege and no attainment. Hence because nothing is attained, the Boddhisttva who relies Prajna Parmita has his mind free from obstacles. With the mind free from obstacles, He overcomes fear and goes beyond perverted views, and attains to Nirvana!

The mantra is as follows:
"GATE, GATE PARAGATE, PARASAMGATE, BODHI SVAHA!"
